Remote Desktop Connection Manager 2.7

Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan)

Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan) is an application for managing multiple remote desktop computers. This creates a location for IT administrators to edit, group, and manage connections.nRemote Desktop Connection Manager was developed by the Windows Live Experience team to overcome the flexibility of the original Remote Desktop Connection client's ability to manage multiple remote desktop protocol (RDP) connections. Because RDCMan was developed internally at Microsoft, the company did not support it.

How to use Remote Desktop Connection Manager

RDCMan is very useful for system administrators, developers, testers, and lab managers who work with well-known computer groups, lab servers or farm servers such as automated check-in systems or data centers where regular access is required to each machine. The ability to merge multiple RDP connections into a single window reduces desktop clutter. Administrators can manage connections by group hierarchies according to groups. In the two-pane interface, the connection options include everything the administrator can specify in the original RDP session.

The administrator can only import servers through text files. RDCMan is really only useful for RDP connections. This means that it is perfect for administrators in Windows deployments that only want remote desktop management tools that focus on RDP. With Windows 10, only Pro users can access their computers. To do this, the user must open File Explorer, right-click this computer, and select Properties, select Remote Settings, and select Allow remote connection to this computer. In addition, they should only be turned off to allow connections from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication.

Properties

RDCMan works with Microsoft Remote Desktop, Microsoft Remote Assistance, pcAnywhere, TeamViewer, Radmin and there are many more applications. This includes a database that helps to make it easier for users to login automatically to logins, including RDP and Terminal Services. This tool also supports Microsoft virtual private network (VPN) and Cisco VPN, among others. The administrator can add features such as Java Web Start and MySQL tools.

The main features in this latest release include support for virtual machines, client size options from application configuration files, support for credentials and encryption, and more. The interface is simple and clean, but the description of each connection is on the same line as the server name; this makes it difficult to view and manage two panels at the same time.

The remote desktop client Terminal in CodePlex is another alternative. The connection can work with network technologies such as Transmission Control Protocol and Time Synchronization. Other options include MultiDesk and open source mRemoteNG that emphasize security and allow connections only after the user approves the shared information.
